Invitation for speakers / Call for papers

 Abstracts are invited for the Flying Heritage Aircraft Conference that will offer opportunities to share knowledge, project experiences and concepts on operation and maintenance of flying heritage aircraft. The main aim of this event is to bring together aircraft owners, operators, aviation enthusiasts, historians, aircraft builders and aviation authorities to discuss recent developments in the restoration, conservation, operation and management of heritage aircraft. The conference is organized by the Finnish Aviation Museum in Vantaa, Finland on Fri 8th – Sat 9th December 2017. The conference is part of the “Finland 100 Years” -programme.

 

Abstracts are invited that address Flying Heritage Aircraft in relation to the following topics:

  • The historic value of heritage aircraft as such and their historical value as operational aircraft
  • The challenges of maintaining a flying heritage aircraft and traditional working methods
  • The importance of flying heritage aircraft to the living history and aviation museums
  • The sustainability of flying collections

 

Those submitting abstracts are to include the following details on latest Fri 15th October:

  1. Title of the paper/presentation
  2. Abstract of no more than 250 words with 6 key words
  3. Author/s information: full name/s, designation, affiliation, address (including city and country) and email address
  4. Abstracts should be submitted to the following email: matias.laitinen@ilmailumuseo.fi
  5. Selected papers will be considered for publication in the conference proceedings which will be published within a year of the event
  6. Individuals and organisations who wish to exhibit a poster or their work may request for exhibition space
